Ireland Cricket Sanju Samson: Has Ireland approached Samson to play international cricket for them?
Sanju Samson is certainly one of the most talked about Indian cricketers this year, and his popularity has increased by a huge margin. Although, the Indian team has been criticized for more not giving him enough opportunities, and there are reports that Samson can switch countries to revive his career.
Samson has played 10 ODIs this year, where he has scored 284 runs at 71.00, and in 6 T20Is, he has scored 179 runs at 44.75 with a S/R of 158.41. These stats are incredible, but still, he has not been a regular in the side. The debate between Samson and Rishabh Pant has a lot of adverse opinions.
Simon Doull said that he will play Samson in the white-ball formats as he has done better than Pant. Samson warmed the bench most of the time in New Zealand, whereas he is not even a part of India’s team for the Bangladesh ODIs.
Ireland Cricket Sanju Samson
There are a lot of reports emerging that Sanju Samson is looking to switch to Ireland in order to revive his international career. It is certain that some of the players have done that in the past for different countries, but when it comes to Sanju, this move looks very unlikely.
Sanju is already 28 years old, and the fact that there must be a cooling period of 3 years between switching countries, there is no way Sanju will be wasting his prime years sitting. With the 50-over World Cup ahead this year, there will be different teams for ODI and T20Is most of the time, and he will definitely get his chances.
It is a fact that the popularity of Samson is immense, and Ireland is also not untouched by it. When India last travelled to Ireland earlier year, Sanju received a lot of support from the fans and some videos of the same also went out. Although, it is certain that Sanju won’t be moving to Ireland to revive his career.
This Ireland side is far from best but the ‘Sanju’ chants from the stands felt really satisfying. 😊 #SanjuSamson is a people’s darling and deservingly so. ❤️❤️ Indian cricket GOT to use him more. #IREvIND pic.twitter.com/EHNIFW1rd3

The players like Mark Chapman (Hong Kong to New Zealand), Tim David (Singapore to Australia), etc have switched countries, and we have seen players like Eoin Morgan, Dirk Nannes, etc, play for two different nations in the past as well.
