STR vs SIX head to head: Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Sixers head to head records in BBL history

The second match of the ongoing 12th season of the Big Bash League will be played between Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Sixers in Adelaide tonight. The match will be the first time when these two teams will clash since a riveting Big Bash League 2021-22 Challenger at the Sydney Cricket Ground earlier this year.

Making most of a batting promotion, Sixers all-rounder Hayden Kerr had scored a career-best 98* (58) as an opener to seal a 170-run chase on the last ball of the match. Kerr was well-assisted by all-rounder Sean Abbott (41) during the business end of a knockout match. Expected to take field at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday, both Kerr and Abbott would be looking to contribute in the same manner in this match.

While Strikers had finished as the fourth-ranked team in BBL 11, Sixers had finished last season as the runners-up after being the second-best team during the league stage.

As far as their rivalry over the years is concerned, Sydney have had the upper hand over Adelaide (even at an away venue in Adelaide Oval) historically. Having said that, Strikers have dominated Sixers when it comes to facing each other in December.
