Gabrielle Union, Who Spent $5 Million To Wed Dwyane Wade, Felt ‘Naked’ When Stuck With Her Husband During The Pandemic
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade have known each other for 15 years now ever since meeting one another for the first time in 2007 at a Super Bowl party. Union was actually quite unimpressed with Wade when she first encountered him, claiming his messy divorce with Siovaughn Funches was the reason why.
However, as time went on, the two warmed up to one another and would attend events together. After quite the public falling out with former high school sweetheart, Funches, Wade would be awarded sole custody of both their children, Zaire and Zaya.
Both would make their relationship official by appearing in Essence magazine together in early 2012. They would hit quite the bumpy road when Wade fathered a child while they took a break from dating with Aja Metoyer. However, after Wade manned up and told Union about it, they would get back together.
Gabrielle Union was locked in her home with Dwyane Wade during the pandemic
Despite having been married since August 2014, Gabrielle Union revealed to ‘People’ that it was quite strange for her to stay locked in, in her home with her husband, Dwyane Wade, for extended periods of time during the pandemic.
“I have not been home in any kind of consistent way since I have been an adult, so just getting to know my husband, which sounds crazy, I was like, ‘Everyday, everyday you’re going to be here. Okay yeah, I guess that is healthy,” said the actress. “I just feel a bit more naked, exposed.”
In hindsight, with just how busy both Gab Union and D-Wade are with their lives, it’s understandable as to how it could’ve been challenging to stay at home together for such a long time together as they had never done it before. Of course, being husband and wife, they navigated through it all just fine.
Dwyane Wade had his sons help him propose to Gabrielle Union
Dwyane Wade used his sons’ help for when it came time to propose to Gabrielle Union. They had been pestering their father on becoming ‘a real family’. So, when it came time to get down on one knee, who better to aid in the process than the people gunning for their marriage the most.
“I had them down by the pool, and I had them make their own signs. I had each one say, ‘Will you marry us?’ I’m sitting there waiting for her to turn around and she’s reading the boys’ signs, and the boys said, ‘Will you marry us?’”
