“Cannot wait for the Ashes”: Dinesh Karthik expresses excitement for commentary stint with Sky Sports during Ashes 2023
Veteran India wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik appears to be a fanboy of the current England Test team. Frankly speaking, the manner in which England are redefining methodology of playing cricket’s ancestral format has it in it for anyone watching to develop an instant admiration.
Not just beating oppositions but comprehensively putting them to shame, England have won nine out of 10 Test matches under current captain Ben Stokes and head coach Brendon McCullum. From making bold changes to justifying them, England’s rejuvenating strategy is pretty novel by their own conventional standards of the past.
While the first seven of these 10 Tests had been played at home, England have officially silenced their critics by whitewashing Pakistan 3-0 in their own backyard today. First team to register a Test whitewash in Pakistan, England have handed a fitting response to critics who had questioned the sustainability of this approach in overseas conditions.

Karthik, 37, took to social media platform Twitter to congratulate McCullum and Stokes for adding another feather in their cap. Furthermore, Karthik couldn’t help himself in hiding his excitement for Ashes 2023 as the marquee series will be the crowing point of England’s summer next year.
Considering how they are playing Test cricket these days, a home Ashes will not only give England a solid chance of regaining the urn after eight years but also put on display one of the most entertaining Test series in recent times. However, it is noteworthy that England are scheduled to play two away and one home Test against New Zealand and Ireland respectively before the Ashes.
What an amazing series win by England!
Cannot wait for the Ashes to begin this summer & be a part of @SkySports ♥️😄

By the medium of his tweet, Karthik also hinted at a return to the commentary box for Ashes 2023. Having made his commentary debut for Sky Sports before making an international comeback earlier this year, a return to England post Indian Premier League 2023 seems to be in Karthik’s plans.
Readers must note that Karthik had become a fan-favourite during his commentary stints in ICC World Test Championship Final 2021 and The Hundred 2021.
