“I want to be known as the Black Mark Wahlberg.”: Shaquille O’Neal, Who Weighed as Much as 400 Lbs, has Lost 40 Lbs in 2022, Plans to Lose 20 More!
Shaquille O’Neal is a man of many tastes. In his extraordinary life, he wants to do everything and for once, we can’t forgive him. Because this time, he is keeping health first. Shaq has talked about how he gained a lot of weight in the past, especially during the pandemic.
But now he is back on the fitness train. He wishes to lose more weight in a bid to have visible abs. As per his own words and his trainer’s, he has lost over 40 lbs in 2022!
And he plans to continue burning the midnight oil. Shaq’s goal is simple for the next year, shed 20 lbs more!

Shaquille O’Neal wants to lose 20 pounds more!
In an interview with ET’s Nichelle Turner, who is also Shaq’s podcast co-host, he revealed that he wishes to shed more weight for one reason and one reason only- to be an underwear model.
“I lost 40 pounds,” Shaq said, “I need to lose about 20 more, but impressive. Imma get real chiseled up and do an underwear ad with my sons.”
Oh yeah, a career change is on the cards for the Big Diesel, he will go from tearing down hoops to billboards.
Shaq spoke at great length about his health issues and why he didn’t care about it till now. He also takes a moment to talk about dietary restrictions and exercise. O’Neal says that everyone should exercise and start soon if they don’t already.
Underwear model or NBA legend? Shaq is looking for a career change
O’Neal’s desire for a career change is nothing new. Shaq has moonlighted for several jobs. “I think I could get the Marky Wahlberg look. I want to be known as the Black Mark Wahlberg.”, he says.
And for once, we believe him. He weighed nearly 400 lbs by his own account, and to see him close to touching 300 is nothing short of amazing.
O’Neal is looking slimmer by the day, he often posts pictures and videos on his social media and the results speak for themselves.
Who knows, come 2023 we might see Shaq posing with his sons Shareef and Shaqir for an underwear company.
