“Giving the Pelicans a Spanking Last Night”: ESPN Analyst Kendrick Perkins Compares Ja Morant and Co. To Goons Over Their Recent Success

The Memphis Grizzlies seem to have found the face of the franchise in Ja Morant. His energy and swagger have changed the team. You may hate him and the Grizzlies for their ‘we are the best’ attitude. But you cannot deny how entertaining they are. Unless you are Klay Thompson, in which case you probably hate them.

But on a serious note, the Grizzlies are easily one of the best teams in the West. They are seeded second in their conference, tied with the New Orleans Pelicans with 23 wins and 13 losses.

Kendrick Perkins, a former NBA player turned analyst, tweeted praise for the Memphis Grizzlies after they defeated the Sacramento Kings in a tightly contested game.

Kendrick Perkins praises Ja Morant and the Grizzlies

Perkins took to Twitter after the Grizzlies thwarted the Kings 118 to 108. The game saw Ja Morant erupt for 35 points. However, to be fair, it wasn’t just a Morant show. The entire squad was feeling themselves and played wonderfully to add another win to their record.

Perkins was mighty impressed with them and commented on their two-game winning streak. Perkins, in his excitement, also suggested that the players from Memphis were back to being goons. He likely used this word to highlight Grizzlies’ comeback from a two-game losing streak.

Morant is leading the Grizzlies to another playoff appearance

Ja Morant is leading his team by example. He is easily the best player on the squad and has shown a willingness to do anything to win. His agility and speed combined with explosive leaping abilities make him a highly entertaining player. Over the last few seasons, he has amassed quite a fan following because of his unique style of play.

This season seems to be the same way. Ja is performing extraordinarily and will definitely lead his team to the playoff. However, it feels that they are still incapable of reaching the NBA Finals. Maybe a couple more seasons will strengthen their team.
