Ahmed Shehzad likely to face a 3-month ban after failing dope test
Pakistani opener Ahmed Shehzad will face a three month ban in all likelihood as he has failed the dope test. A surprise dope test was conducted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) during a local match. The samples collected by the PCB reveal some shocking news.
Pakistani opener Ahmed Shehzad has tested positive and is likely to face the brunt for it. The batsman already has a notorious image and has been dropped several times from the team due to his indiscipline.
However, he had been scoring some runs in the domestic season and the selectors were considering him for selection. Just before that, the PCB thought of conducting a dope test. However, the results were shocking as Shehzad tested positive.

All the same, this is not the first time that a Pakistani cricketer has failed the dope test. Earlier also, the likes of Shoaib Akhtar, Yasir Shah, Raza Hasan, Mohammad Asif and Abdul Rehman have been tested positive.
As per Pakistani policy, the player has to undergo a 3 month ban if tested positive for the first time. The ban increases to 2 years during the second time and if the player is tested positive for the third time, he has to serve a life ban.
It was the PCB who broke the news on Twitter from its official handle: “A player has reportedly tested positive for a prohibited substance. But under ICC rules PCB cannot name the player or chargesheet him until the chemical report is CONFIRMED by the Anti-Dope Agency of the government. We should have an answer in a day or two.”
