“They’re Thinkers”: Shaquille O’Neal Justified Loving His Daughters More Than His Sons, Saying They’re More Sensitive
In a 2022 interview, Shaquille O’Neal revealed that he dotes on his daughters Me’arah, Amirah and Taahirah O’Neal more than his sons.
When Shaquille O’Neal first burst onto the NBA scene, he wowed everyone with his size, strength and athleticism. In his rookie year, he forced the league to restructure the baskets after breaking the backboard twice during games.
Over the years, he began making movies and rap albums while appearing on commercials for practically everything. This made him one of the most recognizable athletes across the world.
This marketability, combined with his gregarious persona, made Shaq a perfect candidate to be on television. And indeed, he signed with TNT to be a pre- and post-game analyst sooner than the ink had dried on his retirement announcement from the NBA.

Shaquille O’Neal reveals that he pampers his daughters more than his sons
Speaking to former NFL stars Channing Crowder, Fred Taylor and Ryan Clark, Shaq revealed his preference for his daughters:
“I like my girls a little bit better. Because as a man, you have to protect and provide love for your woman. I trust them more because they’re more sensitive and more caring. And they’re thinkers.”
“I tell my boys ‘When y’all get 18, y’all gotta go.’ Girls can stay as long as they want. Y’all can stay as long as you want. Go to college, get your masters, get your doctorate, I’ll pay for it. Take your time.”
“I’m trying to teach them about all types of men, and whom to avoid. I tell them, ‘Don’t mess with somebody that everybody wants. Because he’s got too many options.'”
