Luka Doncic, Who is MVP Frontrunner, Once Waited Outside LeBron James and Lakers’ Locker Room for His Jersey During His Rookie Year
In 2018, Luka Doncic entered the league as a 19-year-old. He was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks, only to be traded to the Dallas Mavericks on the same day. What no one foresaw, was his greatness. But before all that he was a rookie and even he had to wait for LeBron James’ jersey.
Five years later, there can be no denying his greatness. The man is a triple-double machine and a great team player. Much like his idol and hero, LeBron James.
Speaking of The King, the first meeting between himself and El Matador was special. Especially for the teenager, who even waited outside the Lakers locker room to collect his jersey.

Luka Doncic keenly waited outside the Lakers locker room for LeBron James’ jersey
For any young superstar, playing against an idol is a dream come true. Well, back in 2018, a young Luka Doncic got to do just that. After all, he took on LeBron James and the Lakers in what was an exciting matchup for El Matador.
The Slovenian put up 14 points, seven assists, and five rebounds, as the Mavs fell to LA 114-113. A difficult loss to take, but one that Luka quickly forgot. After all, following the match, the young star received a signed jersey from The King. One he had to wait outside the Lakers locker room for.

A truly special night for Doncic. Now, he will be focusing on replicating his idol’s success, both on the court and off it.
Well, if LeBron is to be believed, then the Mavericks superstar is well on his way to matching him. After all, he did say they have the same game.
LeBron James is reminded of himself when he sees Luka Magic on the basketball court
Perhaps the most interesting part of Luka Doncic’s game is his all-around offensive game. The man can score, rebound, and assist with the best of them. A style of play that is eerily similar to that of LeBron James.
Something that The King himself has taken note of.

It’s safe to say that Luka will take that compliment all day every day. It’s not every day that your hero appreciates your game. And while waiting outside locker rooms might be long past, it is a reminder that everyone has to start somewhere.
