Lewis Hamilton posts Instagram story about the Silverstone incident
Lewis Hamilton is in the midst of a massive controversy, following his comments about Ferrari’s tactics after P2 in Silverstone.
Hamilton wasn’t very thrilled with what transpired during turn 3 of the British GP yesterday, and he did not mince any words in slamming Ferrari’s tactics for the same.
Hamilton’s emotions were echoed by the entire Mercedes team, who too felt that Ferrari were using ‘cheap’ tactics in order to get an advantage over Mercedes.
During the post race press conference too, Hamilton was visibly frustrated with the entire incident and spoke his mind about how in the last two races, a Ferrari was involved in taking out a Mercedes.
While a penalty was slapped onto Raikkonen, Hamilton felt it did not appear to be fair as it essentially ended all his chances of winning the race.
Hamilton drove heroically after that incident and managed P2, with some help from the safety car.
Now, after a night’s sleep and the emotions calming down, Hamilton has put up a post, accepting that he went a little overboard with his comments yesterday.
He admitted to saying ‘dumb shit’ and that he had already learnt from it.
He informed his fans that Kimi had apologised for the incident and that Lewis had accepted the apology.
“Kimi said sorry and I accept it and we move on. It was a racing incident and nothing more. Sometimes we say dumb shit and learn from it.” Hamilton said in Instagram story

Kimi had informed the media that a wheel lock up had caused the incident and that nothing of it was ‘planned’ in any which way.
Mercedes need to be a little more careful with the kind of words they use or probably it was just a tactic to make Ferrari think about this a little more the next time they step onto the race track.
