Arsenal battle London club to sign M’baye Niang
The North London club have already completed five summer signings so far.
M’Baye Niang is a versatile midfielder. He currently plays for Italian Serie A outfit Torino, and the 23 year old has made several international appearances with Senegal.
His performances in the World Cup hardly showed any flaws, and quite justifiably, he has now garnered attention from the Premier League. England could be his home next season as London rivals West Ham United and Arsenal are set to lock horns in order to sign him.
The Hammers have been super busy and smart with their spending while Arsenal are going through a reshuffle. Manuel Pellegrini is already claimed to have lodged a bid for the 23 year old. Unai Emery has signed five players during this summer and a sixth cannot be ruled out.
As much as the Gunners are focusing on building a fantastic first team, they also have an illusion in mind for a future squad. Investments in Mateo Guendouzi and Konstantinos Mavropanos are clear examples of that. Another example which can be cited is Emile Smith Rowe who struck a stunner in Arsenal’s first pre-season friendly in Singapore against Atletico Madrid. Niang could be another addition.
The player is also the subject of interest for French Ligue 1 outfit Nice. He has ample experience from the Premier League having played with Watford. He was earlier on the books of Milan and Caen. With the seven time European champions, he notched 67 appearances and scored 8 goals in the process. Most of his years were spent out on loan to gain experience. The latest of them was at Torino, where his contract was later converted into a permanent one.

M’Baye Niang is born in France and has had exposure to French football. Apart from graduating out of Caen’s academy, he has also represented his birth nation on U16, U17 and U21 levels before changing passports to play for Senegal.
