“Watchu Gon Tell Him?”: Devin Booker Addresses Kevin Durant Going 5/18 on Suns’ Home Debut Against Timberwolves
The Suns’ fans finally took a sigh of relief. Hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight, the home crowd was ready to witness the Slim Reaper in action. After injuring himself right before his first home game, Kevin Durant finally completed today’s pregame workout with no issues.

Even though Durant didn’t have the game he would have wanted, the Suns’ fans would have been happy to see him with the team. The Timberwolves came in with a four-game win streak, hoping to extend it to five. However, the Suns made some timely plays and made sure they protected their home court. The team took the 107-100 win.
As expected, everyone was asked about Kevin Durant’s performance after the game, including Devin Booker.
Devin Booker and Monty Williams talk about Kevin Durant
During the game, we could see there were stretches when Kevin Durant was visibly frustrated. Why wouldn’t he be? He is one of the most efficient players in NBA History, and tonight he could barely knock down a shot. After going 1 for 8 in the first half, KD was shaking his head when head coach Monty Williams stepped in. He told KD, ‘greatness doesn’t shake his head.’

After the game, Williams addressed his shooting and said that the team would work on his conditioning and rhythm.
Monty Williams on Kevin Durant’s off shooting night: “You look at the shooting numbers, you’re like, that’s not Kevin….but I think the way he stayed with it, when he hit the 3s in the third quarter, like, that’s Kevin. He’s not gonna run from those types of shots.”

When Devin Booker was asked about the same, he kept it real and said,
Devin Booker smiled when asked about whether guys were talking Kevin Durant through his rough shooting start.

I mean, what do you say to one of the greatest scorers in NBA history? Nothing. You just let him be, and trust that he’ll be back to himself the next game.
KD addresses his slow start
Tonight was not the kind of opening you want to have with a new team at your new home ground. It was clear KD wanted to impress the fans, and well, maybe that resulted in him trying too hard. When have we ever seen the stat line read 5 for 18 for Kevin Durant? It’s all the pressure getting to the Slim Reaper, and it showed tonight.
“Sometimes you can want it too bad.”
Kevin Durant said it was hard for him to sleep today or to stop thinking about the game.
“A couple of those shots, I definitely was rushing and trying to get it all back at once. I can get in my own way sometimes, thinking too much.”

As soon as Kevin Durant stops getting in his own head, the Suns’ fans will be in for a treat. With playoffs still six games away, Durant has a lot of time to get things right.
