A mix up between Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli leads to a drop catch against England
After Cook’s dismissal early on, India have been trying hard for a breakthrough. However, it is yet to come.
Ishant Sharma bowled one of his typical out swingers to Keaton Jennings. Jennings came up with a tentative prod as the balls flew to the slip cordon after taking the edge.

The ball was between Virat Kohli who was at third slip and Ajinkay Rahane stationed at fourth slip. The ball was going towards Kohli when Rahane jumped in and tried to pouch the ball. It hit his hands and spilled out.

Virat Kohli was absolutely stunned as he looked at Rahane in disbelief. Rahane gave Kohli a pat, suggesting to move on.
Not sure… after drop, Rahane was seen telling Virat to come up one step (which Virat has done now)… probably Rahane thought ball would die down before reaching him and went for it… https://t.co/07ECKYMSAs

On the other hand, Indian pacers failed to make an impact with Ishant Sharma struggling to get his line right. Umesh Yadav started off well but was too expensive and was finally taken off after three overs.
The pitch looks quite dry and India would have to make early inroads to stamp their authority over the match. Mohammed Shami is yet to be tried and he is someone who can also have a massive impact on the match if he hits his straps right away.
As it turned out, the trajectory of the ball was taking it straight to Kohli who could have pouched it comfortably. Although the commitment that Rahane showed was commendable, he could have reined in a bit.
