Is Kevin Durant Playing Tonight vs Lakers? Suns Release Injury Report For 4-Time Scoring Champion Ahead of Possible LeBron James Faceoff
Unlike Lakers fans, most NBA enthusiasts will be hoping that LeBron James and Kevin Durant play each other for the first time in 1564 days.
Acquiring KD was a win-now move that has put the Phoenix Suns right at the top of the Western Conference contenders. Although they’re only seeded 4th this year, their fortunes have changed in the last 6 weeks.
Durant is yet to taste defeat in the Valley, having gone 8-0 with the team since his arrival from Brooklyn. The Slim Reaper has been playing at his usual pace of effortless brilliance and notching up numbers.
‘The Servant’ played on minutes restrictions for his first 3 appearances alongside Devin Booker and co. He’s now playing his full quota of minutes, and his stats speak for themselves.
Through 8 games for Phoenix, Durant is averaging 26 points per game on some incredible efficiency. He’s made 57% of his field goal attempts, including a whopping 57% from 3-point range.
It is clear that the Phoenix Suns are capable of beating every team in the NBA if they stay fit. Chris Paul, Devin Booker and KD have all had injuries marring their season.
Is Kevin Durant playing tonight vs Los Angeles Lakers?
Durant suffered a freak grade 2 ankle sprain while warming up for his first home game representing the Phoenix Suns a month ago. He missed 3 weeks of action before returning late in March.
Although he looked quite good and completely fit against Denver last night, the Suns may want to opt for caution. Having played the first night of a back-to-back set, Durant will likely be rested for their second game.
He didn’t give much away from his end in their post-game presser.
“Yeah, but who knows what’ll happen.”

“We’ll see.”

If Durant does end up playing, the Suns will likely be favored against the Lakers, even with LeBron playing. Phoenix are -125 betting favorites as things currently stand.
Kevin Durant’s stats this season
Durant has appeared in 47 games overall this season, with 39 of those coming for the Brooklyn Nets. He’s averaging 29.1 points per game on 56% from the field, 40.4% on 3-pointers and 91.9% on free throws.
This would mean that he’s likely to finish the season with his second entry to the 50-40-90 club – except for the fact that he hasn’t played enough games to qualify.
Durant’s true shooting percentage of 67.7% would also be a career-high. This would be an incredible feat for the 6’10” forward, who’s nearing 35 years of age.
