Jasprit Bumrah fit for 3rd Test against England
There is some good news coming in for Team India before the 3rd test at Trent Bridge after getting crushed by the hosts at Lord’s by an innings and 159 runs. Star Indian pace bowler, Jasprit Bumrah is fit for the Third test scheduled to begin on August 18.
Jasprit Bumrah hurt his finger during the first T20I match against Ireland last month and has been away from action since. He was reportedly declared bowling fit before the second Test match but the management decided to give him some more time to recover fully from the finger injury.
Bumrah, who has grown into an important part of the Indian limited overs setup over the past one year, made his Test debut in South Africa. The pace-bowler from Gujarat, delivered an impressive performance by picking up 14 wickets in three matches against South Africa and was the highlight of the Indian bowling attack with his pace and accuracy.
Kuldeep Yadav is likely to make way for Jasprit Bumrah in the third Test provided the pitch at Trent Bridge is not suited for spin bowling.
Although the Indian pace bowlers have looked impressive so far, Kohli will be all too aware of the problems staring at him with three more crucial Test matches to go. India will have to play out of their skins to make a comeback in this series and quality pace bowling in conditions that favor the seamers is paramount.
England showed in the Lord’s Test match that even though conditions were favoring the pace bowlers, it was important to pitch the ball in the right areas where the Indian seamers weren’t very successful. Having a hit-the-deck-bowler like Jasprit Bumrah in the bowling attack could be the answer to India’s bowling woes in their bid to make a comeback in this series.
