After Conor McGregor, BKFC Star Mike Perry Calls-Out Old UFC Rival for a Bare-Knuckle Fight

Conor McGregor, the former two-division UFC champion, raised the atmosphere at BKFC 41 by facing off against main event winner Mike Perry. The highly anticipated event took place inside the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold and ex-UFC star Mike Perry headlined the event in a light heavyweight contest. Although Rockhold was expected to make a banger BKFC debut, it didn’t go as planned.

 

Perry stopped the former UFC champion in the second round of the fight. Also, to add to the excitement, the ex-UFC star called out Conor McGregor for a face-off. And the latter granted his wish.

Conor McGregor faced off against Mike Perry at BKFC 41

Since the first bell, Mike Perry and Luke Rockhold exchanged heavy jabs. However, Perry hurt Rockhold. The former UFC middleweight champion quit in the second round of the bout because of a mouth injury.

This was Perry’s third straight victory in the promotion. Following his triumph, in his ring interview, the ex-UFC star called out Conor McGregor for a face-off inside the ring.

 

Interestingly, McGregor agreed to it and entered the ring with a BKFC belt on his shoulders. The two exchanged a few words of respect. McGregor also stated that he isn’t retiring anytime soon. He also issued a challenge to the winner. “How is it that I’m just showing up here and I’ve already got the belt?” McGregor said.

The event was action-packed, with several fights ending in a knockout. Former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, former interim champ Justin Gaethje, and retired star Donald Cerrone also attended BKFC 41 today. However, McGregor’s entering the ring was the highlight of the event.

McGregor’s former opponents competed in the co-main event

Conor McGregor’s former opponents Chad Mendes and Eddie Alvarez competed in the co-main event of BKFC 41. The Irishman was pretty pumped up for the fight, as he was seen shadowboxing during their clash.

 

Coming to the fight, former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez defeated Chad Mendes via a split decision. The latter called it a career following his loss in the co-main event.

Interestingly, McGregor has crossed paths with both combatants in the past. He defeated Chad Mendes in 2015 in an interim featherweight title bout. Later, in 2016, ‘The Notorious’ stopped Alvarez to become the first-ever two-division UFC champion.
