Leclerc snubbed Red Bull’s move to win the championship
Red Bull has been the force to reckon with, as the new regulations were rolled out in 2022. The Austrian team had been demolishing the opponents in every race, and Ferrari could do little to stop them.
Despite all of this, the Monegasque pilot put his allegiance with the Prancing Horse. When asked by BILD if he needs to switch to the Milton-Keynes-based team to be world champion according to experts, will he do it, he promptly said, “No.”
First pole of the season, it feels really good and the lap was 🔥
The feeling with the car was really good too, proud @ScuderiaFerrari ❤️ pic.twitter.com/edaZ7tmxV9— Charles Leclerc (@Charles_Leclerc) April 28, 2023
The former Alfa Romeo pilot finished his best season with Ferrari in 2022, after joining the team back in 2019. Despite having the potential to win the championship last season, Leclerc couldn’t cope with Max Verstappen and his RB-18.
The Monegasque driver snubs the Mercedes switch
In the latest development, Charles Leclerc has snubbed the rumors of a switch to Mercedes. As per the rumors, the Monegasque driver was linked with a sensational move to Mercedes to replace Lewis Hamilton.
The rumors found traction as the seven-time world champion is delaying contract extension with the Silver Arrows. Leclerc, upon hearing the rumors, decided to address them and snub them altogether.
The 25-year-old driver said that he didn’t have any words with Mercedes higher-ups or Toto Wolff in this regard. He’s very much focused on his current team for now and wants to work with the team, he concluded.
