Lewis Hamilton Provides Hilarious Reply When Asked if He Received an Invite for King Charles III’s Coronation

The United Kingdom is set to witness an important ceremony this weekend as King Charles III will be coronated. This is the first coronation that will take place in 70 years. Ahead of this event, star British F1 driver Lewis Hamilton was asked if he received an invite to the ceremony, having recently been knighted himself.

In reply, the 38-year-old hilariously said (as quoted by mirror.co.uk), “I have no idea. I have not seen my mail in years. I don’t know if I did or I didn’t – it is okay. I’m going to have it live on my phone whilst I’m mid-engineering“.

Lewis Hamilton recently provided a huge update about his future

Ahead of the Miami Grand Prix this weekend, Lewis Hamilton provided pleasing news for his fans. In an interview with ESPN, the 38-year-old said that he will continue to be in F1 for at least a few more years as he believes he will always be a driver till he dies.

In the same interview, he also added about how he not only feels ‘younger than ever’ but is also training better than he ever did. Since Hamilton’s current deal expires at the end of this season, the only question that remains is whether he will stay at Mercedes or move to a rival team in the future.

Will Hamilton continue to stay at Mercedes?

Lewis Hamilton’s decision to stay at Mercedes will hugely depend upon if he believes that the team can provide him with a car that is capable of fighting for the championship. As things stand, Mercedes are way off the pace set by leaders Red Bull to challenge for the title.

After the first four races, the Silver Arrows have scored 76 points and are currently third in the Constructors’ Championship. While they are just 11 points behind second-placed Aston Martin, they are already a whopping 104 points behind Red Bull.

Similarly to the Constructors’ Championship, Hamilton is also considerably behind both Red Bull drivers in the Drivers’ Championship. The Briton is currently fourth in the championship with 48 points and is 39 points behind second-placed Sergio Perez.

Meanwhile, championship leader Max Verstappen is another six points clear of his teammate. After four average races, Hamilton will now hope that Mercedes can reduce the deficit to Red Bull in the races to come, beginning with the Miami Grand Prix this weekend.
