“James Harden Kept His Promise to John Hao!”: 2018 NBA MVP Sets up Michigan State Shooting Survivor With Game 4 Tickets For Sixers vs Celtics
James Harden is not only a superstar basketball player but also a philanthropist who is committed to giving back to his community. Throughout his career, he has been involved in numerous charitable initiatives, making significant contributions to various causes. John Hao is one such recent benefactor.
One of the initiatives that Harden is passionate about is supporting underprivileged youth. He has partnered with organizations such as Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Feed the Children to provide education and resources for disadvantaged children.
Harden also started his own foundation, the 3 The Harden Way Foundation, which focuses on education, nutrition, and community service.
In addition to supporting youth, Harden has also been active in providing relief for those affected by natural disasters. He has donated funds to support hurricane relief efforts in Houston, his hometown, and other parts of Texas.
James Harden invites Michigan State shooting survivor John Hao to Celtics-Sixers Game 4
James Harden and John Hao became friends after the latter was one of the Michigan State University students wounded in a mass shooting on campus last week.
James Harden spoke via video call with John Hao while he was hospitalized and offered words of encouragement. After learning that John Hao was a fan of his, James Harden made a donation on his behalf.
The Beard also promised him that when healthy, he’d send him tickets to a Philadelphia 76ers game. And he’s followed through on his words after learning that Hao is now up and about.
This is awesome 💙

Hao can expect to bear witness to one of the most pivotal games in the Beard’s career. Harden has long been fruitlessly in pursuit of an NBA championship, coming agonizingly short on a number of occasions.
Harden’s philanthropy extends to a lot of communities
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Harden and his foundation stepped up to support those in need. In partnership with a local restaurant, he provided meals for frontline workers and those experiencing food insecurity. The foundation also donated masks and other protective equipment to hospitals and first responders in the Houston area.
In recognition of his philanthropic efforts, Harden has been honored with several awards, including the NBA Cares Community Assist Award and the Harvard Humanitarian of the Year Award. However, he has said that the most rewarding part of his charitable work is seeing the impact it has on individuals and communities.
