Carlos Sainz With Latest IG Post Signals Possible Cameo of Ferrari’s Championship Winning Car at Imola

In the latest development, Carlos Sainz has revealed an insight into Ferrari’s upcoming cameo, possibly in the Imola circuit. As F1 returns to Europe for the triple header, the sport will make its first stop in Italy this weekend.

With this week’s Imola race on the cards, Sainz’s official Instagram account has revealed the fascinating Ferrari F2004. The car broke record after record, delivering Michael Schumacher his seventh and final world championship.

However, the highly successful Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro car was not the former German race driver’s car. It was his then-Ferrari teammate Rubens Barrichello’s car, as the number two can be seen on the body.

Sainz’s Instagram story shows that the F2004 was going through special checks and repairs. This leads to a suspicion that the 15 GP winner car will have a cameo in Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari this weekend.

Will F2004 run in Imola with Sainz driving it?

Given Scuderia Ferrari’s success in Formula 1 over the years, it will not be a surprise if the Prancing Horse decides to run the most successful car of the team on their home turf in the 2023 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Furthermore, the F2004 has a notorious record of making cameos on this track. Most recently seen in November 2022, the V-10-powered, 15-race winning classic sped through the chicanes of Imola in the Ferrari Finali Monidali event.

However, no concrete report still says that the Spaniard will have the car all by himself in Imola. But Sainz, his fans, and Ferrari fans alike can hope for this to happen to salvage some luck from the most successful car that came out of the Italian team’s garage.

As per a report by Autosport that dates back to 2005, the Ferrari F2004 of Michael Schumacher was sold to an undisclosed person for a record $3.3 million at Fiorano circuit.

With the car now having gone under individual ownership, it’s highly unlike that F2004 will make its special return to the track. But on the other hand, there’s the other car of Rubens Barrichello, as seen in Sainz’s stories.

If things go down well, Carlos Sainz might have the opportunity to repeat what Charles Leclerc has had with the F2003. The Monegasque had the opportunity to drive Michael Schumacher’s 2003  championship-winning Ferrari.
