WTC Final Session Timings: Duration Of Lunch And Tea Breaks For IND vs AUS Test

The session timings for the ongoing ICC World Test Championship 2021-2023 between Australia and India at The Oval are slightly different to what they are for England’s home Tests. A primary reason behind the same isn’t because the match is being played with a pink ball but because the start time was different to what it is in the general run of things in this country.

Since a match of an ICC tournament isn’t regulated by the ECB (England Cricket Board), it is a great decision to prepone the start time by 30 minutes. Taking into consideration how bad light often plays spoilsport in Test matches in England, starting early has it in it to not miss out on action especially in a crucial match such as this.

WTC Final Session Timings

For the unversed, Test matches in England usually start at 11:00 AM (local time). That said, Australia-India final began at 10:30 AM. Hence, changing the overall WTC final session timings. However, there is no change to the duration of lunch and tea intervals. Like any other normal Test match, players will break for 40 and 20 minutes respectively for lunch and tea.

First Session – 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Lunch – 12:30 PM to 01:10 PM

Second Session – 01:10 PM to 03:10 PM

Tea – 03:10 PM to 03:30 PM

Third Session – 03:30 PM to 05:30 PM

Readers must note that an additional 30 minutes can be added to allow bowling teams to complete their quota of overs for the day. While the aforementioned timings are with respect to the local time in England, session timings according to the Indian standard time have been provided below:

First Session – 03:00 PM to 05:00 PM

Lunch – 05:00 PM to 05:40 PM

Second Session – 05:40 PM to 07:40 PM

Tea – 07:40 PM to 08:00 PM

Third Session – 08:00 PM to 10:00 PM

How Many Overs in WTC Final 2023?
