Who will win KXIP vs MI at Mohali

IPL Match Prediction KXIP vs MI at Mohali: The Sportsrush presents before you the Match Prediction of the ninth match of IPL 2019.

The ninth match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League will be played between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians at Mohali. With both the teams having won one and lost one match in IPL 2019 so far, both of them would be looking to register more wins in this initial phase of the tournament.

Mumbai Indians, who played a night match yesterday against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Bengaluru, will be playing an afternoon match at Mohali tomorrow. Having traveled from Bengaluru to Mohali today, MI will have to careful in their decisions tomorrow.

What numbers suggest in Kings XI Punjab vs Mumbai Indians?

There is no denying to the fact that Indians lead the Head-to-Head statistics against Kings XI. In the 22 matches which both these teams have played against each other in the IPL, MI have won 12 as compared to KXIP’s 10. In the seven matches which they have played in Mohali, MI have a 4-3 lead over Kings XI.

A stat which Punjab would be relishing is the certitude that they have a better average score than Mumbai Indians. While Punjab’s average score against Mumbai is 165, their average score against Punjab is 159. With Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal and David Miller looking promising, Kings XI would be hoping for their batsmen to come good tomorrow.

KXIP and MI Paper value

A major reason why Kings XI Punjab lost to Kolkata Knight Riders on the day before tomorrow was their debatable combination. In a bid to defeat Mumbai, Punjab captain Ravichandran Ashwin will have firstly make changes to the combination and assure that the team at least have six “genuine” bowling options. In the absence of which, Punjab might witness a replica of what happened at Eden Gardens.

Furthermore, opening batsman Lokesh Rahul finding new ways to get out more regularly makes the hosts’ opening pair weak as compared to the opposition. With Lasith Malinga coming back into their playing XI, him and Jasprit Bumrah bowling in the death overs is highly likely of making things difficult for Punjab.

While the match is expected to be a tight contest between both the teams, Mumbai Indians hold the edge over Kings XI Punjab at this point in time.
