The Miami Heat have had one of the most incredible Cinderella runs to the NBA Finals. Having been forced to participate in the play-in tournament as the eight seed, Jimmy Butler and co. barely clinched a spot in the playoffs. Even when they did make it to the postseason, the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks were expected to eliminate them in the first round itself. Despite missing out on Tyler Herro’s services, Jimmy Buckets’ exceptional postseason run has allowed the Florida side to be crowned the Eastern Conference champs. Now, with the Denver Nuggets taking a commanding 3-1 series lead, an old video of Herro agreeing to get a tattoo of Butler has resurfaced on social media.

Nikola Jokic has had a terrific 2022-2023 season. After finishing the regular season as the #1-seeded Western Conference team, he’s led the Nuggets to eliminate all-time greats like Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis, to reach the NBA Finals for the first time in his career.

At the biggest stage of the league, the Joker is putting on historic numbers and is now one just win away from helping the franchise win its first-ever NBA championship. On the other hand, plagued with a 1-3 deficit, Erik Spoelstra’s boys will need to produce a miracle to turn the series over, like LBJ and the Cleveland Cavaliers did in 2016.

Tyler Herro promised to get a Jimmy Butler tattoo on his foot

In an interview during the All-Star Weekend media day, Herro was asked a question that said a lot about his determination to win a championship. The former Kentucky Wildcat was asked if he’d be willing to get a tattoo of Jimmy Butler’s face on his body if his team lifts the Larry O’Brien trophy this year.

After giving it some thought, the 23-year-old agreed to do so. “For us to win a championship? Of course,” Herro said.

Further, the 2022 Sixth Man of the Year also disclosed the body part where he’d be getting the tattoo. Wanting to get it on a place where nobody could see it, the combo guard picked the bottom of his foot as the location of the tattoo.

“Wherever you can’t see it. But I would still get it. You said I could get it anywhere? Imma get it on the bottom of my foot.”

“That’s messed up. you’d be stepping on Jimmy’s face!” the reporter replied. But the Heat star didn’t seem to care.

Tyler Herro’s absence has been hurting the Heat

The 6’5 guard has been exceptional all season long. After coming off the bench last year, Herro was rewarded with a much bigger role this campaign. Starting all the 67 games that he laced up for, the 2020 All-Rookie member averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists on an efficient 43.9/37.8/93.4 shooting split.

Unfortunately, Herro sustained an injury during the Game 1 clash against the Bucks, breaking his right hand. Since then, we’ve not seen him don the Heat colors.

With the likes of Max Strus, Gabe Vincent, and Caleb Martin seeing a dip in production during the Finals, the Eastern Conference champs are certainly missing out on Herro’s consistency. While it is difficult to say that the Heat would’ve been favored to win the series with the 23-year-old’s inclusion, they certainly would’ve been a much stronger unit than they are now.
