Amid Heat Trade Rumors, Damian Lillard Voices Denzel Washington’s Message to 9,800,000 Followers: “An Attitude of Gratitude”
Damian Lillard is one of the biggest targets for title contenders in the upcoming season. For the past few years, the Blazers’ point guard has been in the trade talks despite his wish to win it in Portland. The 11th-year superstar always made it a point to never hype those rumors. This year, however, it looks like Lillard is looking to go the other way and fuel those rumors as he did with the Heat. Recently, he took to Instagram and shared a Denzel Washington quote, which could be a hint to his 9,800,000 followers on the social media platform.
The Blazers would try their best to hold on to their 7x All-Star, who has never kept his desire to retire in Portland a secret. They already have him on a 4-year, $216 million contract, but it’ll take some big personnel changes to keep him around this time. Dame isn’t holding back now, he looks quite open to the possibilities.
“An attitude of gratitude”: Damian Lillard cites Denzel Washington in a possible goodbye to the Blazers
The latest Instagram activity of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team member, Damian Lillard, indicates that a ‘goodbye’ for the Blazers organization and fans might be on the horizon. Here’s Stephen B. Smith with an update about the same on Twitter.

“One of the most important lessons in life that you should know is to remember to have an attitude of gratitude, of humility. Understand where the gift comes from. It is not mine, it has been given to me by the grace of God,” Washington says in the clip Lillard shared via menshandbook_.

Now whether it’s really a hidden message or the man really is showing his gratitude to God for his achievements, will remain a secret until his final decision is made.
Lillard’s stubbornness to win it with Blazers has cringed basketball fans
We all are nothing but hypocrites. While we continue to rip apart the likes of LeBron James and Kevin Durant, over the years, when they have formed super teams. We compare how several greats like Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Kobe Bryant didn’t take that route.
However, when it comes to Lillard, every basketball outside of the Blazers’ loyalists has been irked by his decision to stay in Portland at some point in time.
Now, if he forces his way out of the franchise that drafted him, and forms a super team somewhere, we must not criticize him for it. Before Father Time catches Dame Time, he must have a ring. Otherwise, he will regret it for a lifetime.
