Having Spent $6,500,000, On Liverpool Investment, LeBron James Lying About Peter Crouch Resurfaces In ‘Funniest Athlete’ Compilation
LeBron James is quite the businessman, having racked up an insane net worth of $1 billion at the age of just 38 years old. And perhaps the biggest part of that is his 2011 investment in Liverpool, which was originally worth $6,500,000. Because of this, the King often tries to make it seem like he is an avid fan of the sport of soccer, even if it is a complete lie. And on one occasion, that came back to bite him hard on the behind, bringing back perhaps the most popular NBA meme of all time.
James lying through his teeth is hardly something new. One notable incident involved Kobe Bryant’s historic 81-point game, where James claimed he had predicted the scoring outburst. However, this assertion raised eyebrows and led to skepticism. Critics questioned the credibility of his claim, highlighting it as an example of his propensity for stretching the truth in order to bolster his own image.
LeBron James finds himself bumbling when asked about his knowledge of Liverpool
LeBron James is a very smart man. However, he is still a human being, who has a limited amount of knowledge, even if it may be far higher than the average individual.
However, the NBA great just refuses to accept his limitations. And as a result, when he was asked about his knowledge of cult legend Peter Crouch, and Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, he embarrassed himself. Unfortunately for LeBron James, while he may be a very good basketball player, he just doesn’t have the ability to be a good actor when it matters most. And so, absolutely everyone could tell he was lying, bringing the popular meme to the fore yet again.
However, to his credit, James is hardly clueless about the existence of the joke online, and even took it rather sportingly.
LeBron once hilariously acknowledged the existence of the ‘lying’ meme
As we mentioned prior, LeBron James is a rather smart individual. He often knows exactly what is going on around him, and how everything must be dealt with. And as he let slip on one occasion, the ‘lying’ meme is clearly one of them.
Funnily enough, this happened during an official NBA post-game interview. The media asked LeBron about Carmelo’s retirement. The Lakers superstar retorted that he had “insider information” and knew Carmelo Anthony was going to retire. You can find out all the details of what came next, right here.
