Days After Comparing LeBron James to Tom Brady, Shaquille O'Neal Places Michael Jordan Atop His NBA 'GOAT' List Through Chat GPT

Shaquille O’Neal is on a break from his NBA analyst job at TNT in the offseason. But he has found the perfect pastime to entertain himself and engage his audience in healthy debate at the same time. Shaq has been posting hypothetical matchups and playoff scenarios between all-time great players on his Instagram posts and asking his followers for their evaluation. These fictitious matchups that defy eras and any kind of logistics almost always pit Shaq against other all-time greats like Michael Jordan or LeBron James. The Diesel recently posted a list of All-Time greats on his Instagram, generated through AI and featuring Michael Jordan at the top of the food chain.

Another recent Instagram post on the same genre saw Shaq compare LeBron James to New England Patriots legend Tom Brady. This post managed to stir up the GOAT debate once again among NBA fans because Brady is widely accepted as the NFL GOAT and suggesting LeBron to be his NBA counterpart has a similar implication. However, Shaq has always maintained that Michael Jordan is his bet in the GOAT debate and this current list shared by him is consistent with his admission.

Shaquille O’Neal shares new ChatGPT list of NBA GOATs

With the rapid rise of AI-based technology in all sectors, NBA fans have lately witnessed a lot of intriguing AI-generated images, lists and graphics gain traction in the media. Shaquille O’Neal has been pretty much at the helm of engaging with this kind of content. He recently shared another GOAT list on his Instagram stories, generated through ChatGPT.

It featured Michael Jordan at the top, followed by the three Lakers legends LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson. At number 5 they had Larry Bird, followed by Shaq and Tim Duncan. The last three spots were occupied by Hakeem Olajuwon, Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain.

Shaq shared the reel of a fan(with the handle ogdabeast-sports) reacting to the list and suggesting some major changes. The fan pointed out right off the bat that Kobe Bryant was notably missing from the list. He then proceeded to rearrange the whole thing. Keeping the top three intact, he put Shaq and Kobe at four and five respectively. The rest of the list featured Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Stephen Curry, Hakeem Olajuwon and Tim Duncan from six to ten. Shaq seemed to be satisfied with the hierarchy as he shared the list on his social media.

Shaq’s claim to be the most dominant NBA player ever

Shaq has said on numerous occasions that he is not interested in his name being discussed in the GOAT debate. In fact, he wants monopoly in a category of his own-the NBA’s most dominant player ever. Few can dispute the 7’1 giant’s claim to the most dominant throne.

Shaq’s only competition in the category is Wilt Chamberlain. Despite having less Championships than the 2000 NBA MVP, Wilt put up video game numbers during his time in the NBA, creating almost a kind of mythical presence in league history. Shaq has expressed his regret in the past for failing to surpass Wil Chamberlain in the all-time scoring list to seal the debate for the most dominant player ever once and for all.
