Carlos Alcaraz Joins Rafael Nadal and Lionel Messi by Getting a Pooping Figurine Made of Him

Tennis ace Carlos Alcaraz won the Wimbledon Championships last week. In doing so, he became the first player to defeat Novak Djokovic after four years. On winning the title, he was honored with a Caganer of himself. 

In receiving this honor, Alcaraz is up there with the likes of Roger Federer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. With this win, he has certainly earned a lot of plaudits and praise. One can sense that Alcaraz is certainly growing in the world of sports. 

What Is a Caganer and Why Is Carlos Alcaraz Getting One?

Caganer’s are traditional figurines made during the Christmas season depicting famous personalities. Amusingly, the only thing in common amongst all the Caganer’s is that everyone is positioned taking a poo. This concept has been around since the 18th century. 

In November last year, the company released new additions. Soccer star Robert Lewandowski has one based on him and even the FIFA World Cup winner Lionel Messi holding the cup. Their aim is to make a change, realizing new characters throughout the year. And with Spain’s own Carlos Alcaraz setting the stage ablaze with his exploits, it makes all the sense that a caganer is made of him.

The CEO of the company stated,

“Years ago, it was Rafael Nadal who was the most talented tennis player, and what he achieved is something incredible. Now, Alcaraz still has all his career ahead of him. His talent makes you believe that he will be able to win many titles and have many victories.”

Alcaraz on the Losing Side at Hopman Cup 2023

Alcaraz was most recently seen competing in the Hopman Cup post his heroics at the Wimbledon Championships. Sadly, he couldn’t guide his team to victory in both the group stage matches. In the first tie, Spain lost the Belgium 2-1. Yesterday, Alcaraz’s Spain fell down to Croatia. 

However, Carlos won both his singles matches against the two nations. Against Belgium, he was up against David Goffin, winning the match 4-6, 6-4, (10-8). Against Croatia, he registered a win over Borna Coric 6-3, 6-7 (6/8), 10-5. Sadly, Spain lost the women’s singles match against both the nations along with the mixed doubles matches too.
