“Buy My Jersey for Your Wife”: DeAndre Hopkins Leaves Kyler Murray in Splits by Savagely Mocking a Radio Host
DeAndre Hopkins, the star wide receiver for the Titans, made a notable appearance at the mandatory training camp, donning the team’s colors for the first time since signing his lucrative $26 million contract. But little did Hopkins know that his presence would catch the attention of an unlikely fan, Sean Pendergast, a radio host.
Pendergast, perhaps trying to inject humor into the situation, decided to share footage of Hopkins practicing, jesting, “Rare footage of DeAndre Hopkins practicing!” Considering that the Texans traded the star wideout to the Cardinals due to his habit of not practicing, the radio host’s jab hit quite the mark, leaving football fans in a frenzy.
This move, however, didn’t go unnoticed by Hopkins. Known for his quick wit and confident personality, the Titans receiver didn’t hesitate to respond with a clever comeback, retorting,
“Just buy my jersey for your wife at this point, I’m sure she’s tired of hearing my name in your sleep.”
Pendergast’s joke humorously backfired as Hopkins turned the situation around with his playful response. Fans and followers on Twitter, including radio host Rich Eisen, found the exchange amusing, with many praising Hopkins for his ability to handle criticism in a lighthearted manner. Notably, some fans also mocked Hopkins for his lack of enthusiasm on the field. Here are some of the fan reactions:

Even Hopkins’ former quarterback, Kyler Murray, couldn’t help but join in on the fun. Murray reacted to the exchange with laughter, showing that the two still share a good friendship despite being on different teams now.

That said, the Titans’ acquisition of star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has finally become official. Hopkins successfully completed his physical examination, sealing the deal with the club on the eve of the training camp.
Hopkins Shines on Debut Day at Titans Training Camp
The Clemson alum made an electrifying debut at the Titans training camp, leaving no doubt about his impact on the team. Donning his new No. 10 jersey, the star receiver wasted no time in showcasing his skills and chemistry with quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
According to the Tennessee Titans’ website, during the first practice session at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park, Hopkins caught an early pass from his QB teammate on the sideline, setting the tone for what would be an impressive display of talent.
Throughout the day, he continued to impress, hauling in three more passes from Tannehill, highlighting his exceptional route-running and catching abilities.

Despite some early challenges, including a mini-collision with cornerback Kristian Fulton, Hopkins remained unfazed and displayed his competitive fire. His presence on the field injected a new level of excitement into the training camp, even drawing cheers from the crowd.
Coach Mike Vrabel’s decision to grant Hopkins a brief absence from practice for personal reasons did not hinder the receiver’s commitment to his new team. Fans and analysts alike are eagerly anticipating the impact Hopkins will have on the Titans’ offense and how his dynamic skill set will elevate the team’s performance in the upcoming season.
