Contrary to Michael Jordan’s Son Marcus’ $61 Million Private Jet Claim, Daughter Jasmine Jordan Refuted Being ‘Special’ in 2018
Speaking on his joint podcast with Larsa Pippen Separation Anxiety, Michael Jordan’s son Marcus had claimed that he used to travel in a $61 million private jet when he was little. Marcus revealed a range of details that give perspective to the kind of uber-luxurious life that he lived. As a 16-year-old kid, MJ’s son was made fun of by his school teammates when he didn’t know the process behind checking in to a normal flight. His revelations stand contrary to what MJ’s daughter and Marcus’s sister, Jasmine claimed in a 2018 interview with InStyle
Jasmine acknowledged the luxurious life that she lived by claiming to have a semblance of normalcy. She revealed that she went to a public school, and didn’t have to face the pressure of being in the public eye as MJ’s kid. Still, fair to say, most people would readily swap the kind of childhood both of the Chicago Bulls legend’s kids talked about.
Jasmine Jordan revealed her “normal life” during a 2018 interview
Jasmine revealed a range of details from her childhood. This included her struggles with embracing the tag of being MJ’s daughter, something she got comfortable with only recently.
After attending a private catholic school for a few years, she was eventually transferred to a public school. Jasmine claimed that it was only after her transfer that she realized normal people did not live the kind of life she had.
She also revealed details about the kind of struggles that she had at Public School. Jasmine received much more attention at her new school but was glad that both the university and its professors sought to treat her like a normal kid. She also revealed how a newspaper ran a story based on her tweet:
“I also had a hard time right before college. I tweeted that I was going to Syracuse University, and at that time I didn’t have that many followers so I didn’t think much of it. A local media outlet picked up my tweet and ran it as if it were an interview, and I was pissed! I was extremely upset, because it was like—first off, I didn’t do an interview, and secondly, you just took my tweet and spun a story I had no say in. It was frustrating, because once I arrived on campus I had to deal with stares from everyone. I was being judged and talked about before I even had a chance to ask a question in class. But the university and my professors reassured me that they weren’t going to treat me differently.”
Despite not making it as a basketball player, Jasmine shares the same kind of interest that her brother and dad have in the sport. She also revealed that she was working with Nike and the Charlotte Hornets, two organizations that MJ has long ties with.
Marcus Jordan was ridiculed at school for flying in a $61 million jet
Most kids would love to swap their lives with the kind of childhood Marcus Jordan enjoyed. Traveling in only a luxurious $61 million private jet until he was 16, the young Marcus had no idea how to check into a normal flight.

This led to his school teammates making fun of Marcus when the team had to travel via Chicago Airport. Marcus explained that he knew nothing of air travel but private jets, which will be unimaginable to most of us. This caused Marcus’ teammates to taunt him. Marcus during the podcast highlighted the troubles the riches of his father brought him. In contrast, Jasmine seemed to imply her life had no such issues.
