23 Years After NFL Debut, Tom Brady Reveals What Made New England Patriots a Different Breed; “We Cared About Each Other, Card About Winning”
Tom Brady, the 7x Super Bowl champion, recently poured his heart out on the New England Patriots while getting awarded by the franchise during the season opener against the Eagles. While getting awarded for his excellence, Brady opened up about what set the Patriots apart when he used to lead them.
In a packed Gillette Stadium, Brady talked in great detail about his time with the New England Patriots. While giving an emotional speech, Brady revealed that all the players at the Patriots truly cared for each other and cared a lot about winning as well, which ultimately made them the dynasty they are today.
Tom Brady Brings Nostalgia to Gillette Stadium
Tom Brady took center stage at the Gillette Stadium to express his gratitude. Even he wouldn’t have known that when his journey began 23 years ago, it would change the course of NFL history. Brady acknowledged the significance of New England in his career during the recent celebrations at Patriots vs Eagles game. He said,
“I was so fortunate to be drafted here two decades ago — 23 years, to be exact — not even knowing where New England was on the map. And not that we put it on the map, but I think a lot more people in the U.S. know where the New England Patriots play.“

“We had a culture of teammates and cared about two things. They cared about each other and they cared about winning. And if you didn’t care about those two things, you did not last here very long,” Brady recently said while standing before the crowd wearing his iconic No. 12 Patriots jersey.

In his 23 years with the Patriots, Brady led the team to 6 Super Bowls. He certainly left a void that the Patriots are yet to fill. It would be interesting to see if the Patriots are actually able to replace the brilliance of Brady.
Patriots Lose Their Season Opener to Eagles
The Patriots fans would have hoped that the halftime ceremony honoring the return of Tom Brady would result in a win. However, the New England Patriots faced a tough season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. They ultimately fell short in a 25-20 defeat. The game started with the Philadelphia Eagles getting an early 16-0 lead. This put the Patriots in a challenging position right from the start.
However, the New England Patriots showed resilience by clawing their way back into the game. They have Kendrick Bourne to thank for it as he scored a pair of touchdowns. A potential comeback was actually on the cards. Unfortunately, the Patriots couldn’t capitalize on the chances they got, resulting in their season-opening loss.
