“Cause They’re Racist As…”: LeBron James ‘Publicly’ Announced Hatred Towards Celtics, 10 Years After ‘Beer Shower’ at TD Garden
LeBron James was on an ‘international’ special of The Shop, last year. While on the show, LeBron James discussed the value of fans, and their power to affect the outcome of a game. LeBron even went on to highlight Boston Celtics fans, whom Bron feels an extra bit of hate for. But for the right reason. LeBron has faced a lot of abuse from Boston fans. Bron even highlighted an incident that happened 10 years ago, where a fan threw a beer at LeBron as he was exiting the game.
The beer incident occurred on June 7, 2012. LeBron James and the Miami Heat had just forced a Game 7 against the Boston Celtics, with a 98-79 Game 6 victory. While James was exiting the floor, a fan decided to throw beer at him. Though the King didn’t react much, he surely remembered to keep receipts, as Miami would go on to win the series in Game 7, with a dominant performance by Miami’s No.6.
LeBron James explains his hate for Boston Celtics
LeBron James was recently a guest on Season 5 of The Shop. While on the show, the discussion shifted to the power of fans. LeBron completely agreed that fans had the power to make players win or lose a game. LeBron even gave his pick for the worst place to play while on the road.
He said, “- Boston, yeah. I hate them cause they are racist as f**k. That’s why. They will say anything and it’s fine. I mean, f**k, it’s my life. It’s shit I’ve been dealing with my whole life. I don’t mind it. Like, I hear it. Like, if I hear somebody, like, close by, I’ll check ’em real quick. I move on to the game. Whatever the fuck. They gonna say whatever the fuck they want to say. They might throw something on you. I mean I got a beer thrown on me leaving the game”.
LeBron continued his rant on Boston, telling other guests on the show that “it’s the only place in the NBA, in America, you go, and they have, like, shirts that say like, “F**k LeBron. Yeah. It was like a whole section. There’s a “F**k LBJ” T-shirt. I believe they probably sold it at the f**king team shop. They sold it outside the arena. They sold it at the team shop. Them Celtics management had something to do with that shit”. And it’s not just LBJ but Draymond Green also once admitted to a similar belief.
Draymond Green expresses concerns about Celtics fan’s behavior
Draymond Green is the motor and the heart of the Warriors dynasty. During Game 2 of the NBA Championship in 2022, Draymond became public enemy no.1, as he single-handedly won the Dubs the game. Entering Game 3, things changed as Draymond was being called words like ” Bi**h” and “Ni**er” by the crowd.
Draymond would later recall the incident while on the Unfiltered show with Complex. Talking about the incident, Draymond said, “I was rattled. It’s not something you would expect.” Draymond isn’t the only player to have reported such behavior, as many other players have raised similar concerns with the Boston crowd.
