WATCH: F3 driver shows the real way to crack open a cold one

The F3 driver’s championship was decided las night, with Mick Schumacher claiming 2nd spot at the Hockenheim circuit. That combined with Dan Ticktum’s 7th position was enough to give the young Schumacher his first F3 title.

Schumacher was obviously ecstatic after the conclusion of the race, as he was trailing Dan Ticktum halfway through the season and it had felt like Ticktum would run away with the win.

However, an upgrade from PREMA Theodore Racing meant that Schumacher was able to extract more pace from the car and overtake Ticktum in the driver’s standings.

Ticktum had voiced concerns over the same, as he questioned the legality of the car, as the data that his team had been receiving was a little suspicious.

The alleged allegations were rubbished off by Schumacher who insisted that he was focussed on the job at hand and did not want to get sucked into unnecessary controversy.

And now Schumacher has finally tipped Ticktum to win the title, a feeling that he feels in incomparable to any.

“Of course, I am really happy with my title win,” Schumacher said.

“I can hardly describe what a beautiful feeling it is to be doing something that you love really well. However, I also have a great team around me that is giving me the best conditions, enabling me to concentrate on what is important. I reckon that that is one of the keys to success.

“Moreover, we never gave up this season and have always tried to improve further. We never stopped working on ourselves. About this race: my start was average. Until the safety car came out, I had a close fight with Jüri. After the restart, I ran wide on the first corner and lost contact to him. After that, it took awhile for me to get my tires clean again and to find back my rhythm. However, the championship party still has to wait, because there is another race to run tomorrow in which I want to give the maximum once more.” he added.

And while the highlight from last night would be Schumacher’s win, Estonian Jüri Vups also caught some headlines, one because of his race win and two because of the way he cracked open his champagne bottle during the podium presentation.

Vups smashed the base of the bottle on the ground and the cork flew open with the champagne rising high up in the air.

A lot of people on social media have reasoned out how the bottle did not break, as Vups ensured that the entire base of the bottle hit the floor, so as to not shatter it in any way.
