WATCH: Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton’s post race banter
Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen were involved in one of the most engrossing three way battles this season on track, when the trio were very close to each other during rhe finaL 10 laps.
Hamilton was trying to get past Verstapepen in a bid to finish 2nd and clinch his 5th world title. But the Dutchman wasn’t giving Hamilton the chance to do so, taking the defensive line and keeping the Brit at bay.
Ultimately, Hamilton ran a little wide, trying to overtake Verstappen and Hamilton’s hopes of wrapping up the title in Austin took a massive blow.
Vettel too had overtaken Bottas order to finish 4th.
Now, speaking about their little tussle in the post race press conference, Verstappen went onto say that Lewis actually allowed him a lot of space and didn’t quite squeeze him.
Hamilton confirmed if Max was indeed speaking about Hamilton not racing hard enough, with the duo then sharing a laugh about it.
Verstappen and Hamilton both are known to be hard racers, who give nothing away and always go in for even the slightest of gaps.
While Hamilton’s approach is a little more measured, Verstappen does commit a few more errors while attempting to race hard.
Those mistakes too have come down now but still.
Check out the video of the duo racing towards the end of the GP.
Now that’s racing! 🤜🤛

Verstappen spoke about how Hamilton running wide and had ultimately ended his hopes of having any chance of getting past, as the gravel generally doesn’t allow a car to get good grip right away.
