WATCH: Verstappen doesn’t crash into the P1 board after winning Mexico GP
Max Verstappen was ecstatic after having won the Mexican GP, as the young Dutch driver managed to get into the lead on Turn 1(after having qualified in P2) and managed to control the race to perfection to take the win on Sunday.
While Verstappen would have been over the moon after his performance on race day, he did keep his emotions in check, unlike after qualifying on Saturday, where Ricciardo snatched pole position away from him right at the end in Q3.
Verstappen had dominated all three practice sessions going into qualifying on race day and looked all set to take pole position by his lap timings in Q1 and Q2.
However, Ricciardo found that perfect lap right at the end in Q3 to leave Max in P2.
Max admitted that there was a slight braking issue with the car that ultimately cost him pole position.
And while he did make his frustration quite evident in the post qualifying interview, he did it even while parking his car near the P2 board, knocking it down.
But Verstappen had his emotions in check after winning the grand prix, as when he was parking his car in front of the P1 board, he did it perfectly, not touching the board and definitely not slamming it down. He even got a thumbs up for it.

Verstappen would be hoping for at least one win in the last two races, so as to move into the 2019 season with a high.
