WATCH: When Hamilton took a hilarious dig at Rosberg after winning the 2015 title
Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton shared a fierce rivalry at Mercedes for four long years, with Rosberg ending it on a high, with a championship in 2016(he retired post the 2016 season).
Their rivalry was filled with some very competitive driving on track and some very controversial statements off it. The duo were karting mates during their childhood and were known to get along really well.
However, when there is a world title at stake, even the best of friends can drift apart, and drift apart they did.
Hamilton ended up winning 2 world titles during this phase, with Rosberg coming back strong in 2016 and snatching away the title from Hamilton.
While there have been many moments where the drivers have taken sly(or some not so sly) digs at each other, the one in Abu Dhabi has to be in the highlights reel.
With Rosberg winning the 2015 Abu Dhabi race, a journalist asked him if he was happy enough going into the winter break, as Hamilton had won the title that season in the United States.
Rosberg said that he was pretty happy with things. And when the question was passed onto Hamilton, he took a very cheeky jibe at Rosberg, saying that being a world champion feels a lot cooler than just winning a race.
Check out the video:
The Rosberg-Hamiton rivalry had many such moments all through, with controversy just finding a way to get into the system and hold the two at ransom.
It added to the show, but sometimes it got a little out of hand, something that both Nico and Lewis would agree, they could have done without.
