RCB buy Gurkeerat Mann: Royal Challengers Bangalore buy Indian all-rounder Gurkeerat Singh Mann for INR 50 lakh.

During the ongoing IPL auction for the 12th season of the IPL (Indian Premier League) at Jaipur, IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore acquire the services of Indian middle-order batsman Gurkeerat Singh Mann for INR 50 lakh.

Mann, who was priced at INR 50 lakh, didn’t receive many bids. Just as it was time for the auctioneer to declare the player unsold, RCB raised the bar to buy the all-rounder, who is currently playing for Punjab in the Ranji Trophy.

Having already bought hard-hitting West Indies middle-order batsman Shimron Hetmyer, Mann is Royal Challengers’ second pick of the auction. Another middle-order batsman, Mann is likely to come in handy for RCB.

Given his attacking instincts with the bat, one expects Mann to finish innings in the upcoming season of the IPL. Furthermore, middle-order batsmen was one major aspect of their line-up which RCB were struggling with.

Having a stellar top-order comprising of Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers for years, RCB’s batting always received a blow when it came at finishing the innings. Hopefully, that issue will get sorted now.

The 28-year old cricketer had made his national debut during India’s tour of Australia in 2016. Having not performed to his potential in three ODIs, Mann never received another chance at the highest level.

Having made his IPL debut in 2012, Mann played for his home team in Kings XI Punjab till 2017. Ahead of the last season of the IPL, he was bought by Delhi Daredevils but didn’t get a single match to play in which was a poor season for them.
