Kyrie Irving thinks Warriors got lucky vs Celtics, Steph Curry responds

The Warriors got past a very competitive Celtics outfit last night, winning 115-111 at the TD Garden.

Warriors went on a 10 game win streak post the win, but the Celtics gave the NBA champions a good run for their money.

Earlier, the Warriors players and Steve Kerr had admitted that the Celtics would give the Warriors a good fight in their attempt to secure that three peat this season.

While the Warriors won fair and square last night, they did get a fair share of luck running their way, especially with lucky bounces and referee calls.

And Kyrie was quick to point that out post the game. He commended the Warriors for their poise but also pointed out how they got lucky.

“They had poise but they also got pretty lucky, too.”

Curry was obviously quizzed about how he felt with all those ‘lucky comments’ from Irving.

Curry was bemused at first to hear the ‘lucky’ word. He scoffed and then commented that Celtics could have taken advantage of all the turnovers.

But the Warriors forced them into taking tough shots and hence they came out 2nd best on the night.

“He said we got lucky? Pretty lucky? I don’t know what that means,” Curry said in response to Kyrie’s comments.

“In terms of just forcing them into tough shots, I mean, they could have made them.

“Those turnovers really could have hurt us, but over the course of 48 (minutes) we gave ourselves a good opportunity to win the game.” he concluded.

The Warriors have looked on song ever since DeMarcus Cousins was drafted into the starting 5. They have been strong going forward and defense wise too.

For all the other NBA teams, their form and the way they are functioning should be alarming, as all signs point to another NBA championship for the Warriors.

Teams will need to act fast before the trade deadline, so as to get whatever they need in order to challenge this well-oiled Warriors side.
