Racing Point get a new Twitter handle and avatar, Renault with a hilarious suggestion for their new era in the sport.
Racing Point are entering into a new F1 era with the 2019 season almost upon us. Previously known as Force India, a Lawrence Stroll led consortium sorted out all the legal and financial issues surrounding the team, giving it a new name, and hopefully a bright future.
The management has confirmed that Racing Point would be the new team name going into the 2019 season, and the social media team has been quick to help reverberate that across social media.
On twitter, the team came up with a new avatar for the team and a new handle, announcing the new era that the team is looking forward to embrace.

Now, when it comes to social media activity and banter, Racing Point, Renault and Mercedes fid themselves at the forefront of it all.
So, when Racing Point unleashed the new handle and the avatar, it was only obvious that Renault or Mercedes(or maybe both) were going to bump in with a few banter posts.
Renault were quick to point out the new avatar, with Racing Point letting them know that a ‘dancing banana’ was in their consideration set as well.
Best avatar on the grid.

We considered putting the dancing banana, but it would have led to confusion.

Renault came up with a brilliant reply, letting Racing Point know that they would have retaliated with pink in their logo.
We would have had to turn our logo pink in retaliation. Mucho confusion.
