CSK’s Jagadeesan hails MS Dhoni’s fitness: The rookie wicket-keeper batsman was wax lyrical about the veteran cricketer.

One of the major reasons why former India captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni is lauded by plentiful fans is his fitness. Aged 37, Dhoni still makes it to be one of the most fittest cricketers in his team, whether it is India or Chennai Super Kings.

Talk of his running between the wickets while batting or his wicket-keeping, none of his skills have lessened due to his increasing age. As far as stumping against the spinners is concerned, one believes Dhoni has only improved with time.

In a recent interview, Chennai Super Kings wicket-keeper batsman Narayan Jagadeesan was vocal about Dhoni. Laying emphasis on the veteran cricketer’s fitness, Jagadeesan said that it is difficult to say that he is 37 years old.

“He is supremely fit. You really can’t say he is 37 because of the way he moves, he is so swift around the field. And he is just so calm. He rarely speaks but those few words lift the team,” Jagadeesan was quoted as saying to the official website of Chennai Super Kings.

Jagadeesan also confirmed the public opinion of Dhoni not keeping during practice sessions. However, he also mentioned that he is always be there to guide the youngsters.

“You don’t see Dhoni keep at the nets, he is something who keeps directly in the games. But he is always there to guide you. I will be doing my drills and, at times when Mahi bhai sees me, he takes the time out to come and give me inputs,” Jagadeesan added.

Bought by CSK last year, Jagadeesan didn’t get a single match to play primarily because of Dhoni in the squad. While he has been doing well in domestic cricket, he would be looking forward to stand tall on any opportunity which he gets.
