MI vs RR Man of the Match: Who was awarded Man of the Match in MI vs RR?
MI vs RR Man of the Match: Rajasthan Royals star batsman was declared the ‘Man of the Match’ for his exceptional innings.
During the 27th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai, Rajasthan Royals defeated Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets to register their second IPL 2019 win.
Chasing a 188-run target, Rajasthan started well in the chase after a 60-run opening stand between Ajinkya Rahane and Jos Buttler. Another incredible 87-run partnership for the second wicket between Buttler and Sanju Samson saw RR sneaking past MI in the chase.
However, losing four wickets in nine balls nearly turned the table as far as the course of the match was concerned. It was eventually leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal who scored a boundary in the last over off Hardik Pandya to seal the chase against MI.
After Royals captain Rahane won the toss and put the hosts in to bat, Mumbai ended up scoring 187/5 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Opening the batting with MI captain Rohit Sharma, wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock top-scored for his team scoring 81 (52) with the help of six fours and four sixes.
With bowling figures of 4-0-39-3, fast bowler Archer was Rajasthan’s pick of the bowlers.
MI vs RR Man of the Match
Rajasthan Royals gave the impression of following a role-reversal today. Unlike earlier matches, Rahane went after the bowlers in the powerplay and Buttler was seen playing the anchor role. After Rahane got out in the seventh over, Buttler took the onus on to himself to play a match-winning.
Shreyas Gopal has had a good day. Well done Rajasthan. They could’ve got there with a lot less heartache, but 2 points and their 2nd win in the end. Buttler the star of the day.

Before getting out in the 14th over, Buttler ended up scoring 89 (43) with the help of eight fours and seven sixes. Him taking on Indians fast bowler Alzzari Joseph to accumulate 28 runs in the 13th over was the pinnacle of his innings. The 28-year old cricketer was declared the Man of the Match.
