SRH vs KKR Man of the Match: Sunrisers Hyderabad fast bowler was declared the Man of the Match against Knight Riders.

During the 38th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders at Hyderabad, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 9 wickets to register their fifth IPL 2019 victory.

Despite a 160-run target being below par, not many would have expected Sunrisers to chase it in 15 overs. It was a match-winning 131-run opening stand between David Warner and Jonny Bairstow which saw the hosts sealing the chase well in time despite the former getting out in the 13th over.

Having played in a free-flowing way from the word go, the emphatic duo posted 72 runs in the powerplay. With SRH crossing the 100-run mark in the ninth over, not much was left for Kolkata as all they did was completed the formalities in the remaining six overs.

While Warner scored 67 (38) with the help of three fours and five sixes, Bairstow ended up scoring 80* (43) with the help of seven fours and four sixes.

After Sunrisers captain Kane Williamson won the toss and chose to field, Knight Riders registered a mediocre 159/8 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. In what was his ninth IPL half-century, Lynn was the highest run-scorer for the visitors. Before getting out in the 17th over, Lynn ended up scoring 51 (47) with the help of four fours and a six.

With bowling figures of 4-0-33-3, left-arm fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers for Hyderabad. Having dismissed KKR’s top-three batsmen in Sunil Narine (25), Shubman Gill (3) and Lynn at crucial junctures, the 21-year old fast bowler was declared the Man of the Match award.
