Cody Rhodes reacts to WWE NXT moving to Tuesday nights. The Wednesday Night Wars are coming to a close with both shows set to air on separate days.

Most wrestling fans today were quite young when the Monday night wars took place. Some of them have never experienced the euphoric heights of the battle between WWF/E and WCW but got a slight taste of it with AEW and NXT both airing on Wednesday night.

AEW’s Executive Vice President, Cody Rhodes was asked about NXT’s move to Tuesday nights during a conference call to promote AEW Revolution. The former TNT Champion said that this was a victory for fans and congratulated NXT on the move.

“If we’re no longer going to be opposed on Wednesday nights, I’m sure we’ll come up with some sort of wonderful statement. Congratulations to NXT on a successful move to Tuesday nights. The real winners are the fans who can watch NXT and Dynamite live every week as this is a marathon not a one night sprint.”

Rhodes claimed that just because NXT had moved didn’t mean something else couldn’t be on Wednesday and they had to continue putting on their best show.

“I can say that, but I don’t want to be sassy or a jerk because with them moving, perhaps something else will be on Wednesday’s. Not only that, AEW Dark is on Tuesday’s. So AEW Dark will potentially be opposed. So that’s why we can’t be in a matter of getting reactionary. We just have to put out the best show. We really do, and if they want to beat us, they have to put out a better show. It’s honest competition.”

Rhodes went on to acknowledge the competition but added that the locker rooms of both the companies loved each other.

“Yeah there’s digs, and they’re fun. And they’re light-hearted. Believe me, all the locker rooms tend to love each other. It’s more the management that is pointed at one another, and even that, there’s a friendly relationship. I would love for us to be alone on Wednesday nights, but I’m prepared for something else in that spot. So we’ll see.”

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
