Iwobi on Ramsey

Alex Iwobi on Ramsey: Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi spoke on Ramsey’s contract situation before the match against Fulham.

Arsenal are in red-hot form at the moment. Unai Emery’s side is enjoying a great run in form as the team is currently on a 8-match winning streak across all competitions. Unai Emery’s side are fifth in the Premier League, level on points with city rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Last week, Arsenal also cruised to the next round of the Carabao Cup, after defeating the lower-league side Brentford. Unai Emery’s side then defeated the high-flying Watford in the weekend fixture.

In their Europa League match against Qarabag, Arsenal comfortably extended their winning run to eight games in all competitions. Arsenal beat Qarabag 3-0, with goals from Sokratis, Emile Smith-Rowe and Mateo Guendouzi secured another three points for the Gunners.

Arsenal will now face Fulham in the Premier League this weekend in a bid to extend their winning run to nine games, as well as maintain the pressure for the Premier League top-4.

However, Arsenal received a setback when it was reported last week that their Welsh star Aaron Ramsey will not sign a new contract. The talks for a new deal have broken down between the Welshman and Arsenal.

Iwobi on Ramsey:

Alex Iwobi has been a revelation for Arsenal at the moment. He has been in fine form ever since Unai Emery took charge at the Emirates. He has now spoken on Aaron Ramsey’s contract situation. He insisted that everyone wants him to stay.

“He’s a great player. When I was breaking into the first team, I always used to watch and learn things for him. I am still doing that today,” said Iwobi.

“It would be a great miss if he goes but hopefully he can stay. We all want him to stay. Hopefully it can get sorted.”

The Welshman has made over 300 appearances for the Gunners, after having spent 10 years at Arsenal. He joined the club from Cardiff City.

What next?

The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing Ever Banega to replace Aaron Ramsey.

Arsenal are also taking positive steps in their off-the-field activities in the transfer market. According to FOX Deportes USA, Arsenal have sealed the transfer for Paraguayan international Miguel Almiron.
