Alexis Sanchez on Mourinho: The Chilean has denied making a bet with Manchester United teammate for Mourinho’s sacking.
The forward is currently in Chile, where he recovers from his injury. Alexis Sanchez has had a difficult time since joining Manchester United in January earlier this year.
He has scored only four goals for the club, and only one across all competitions in the current season. Sanchez lost his place in the side due to inconsistent performances and boost in form of Anthony Martial, who he replaced last season.
While his relationship with Mourinho wasn’t as publically controversial as Paul Pogba’s, there have been reports that he made a bet on the manager’s sacking with a Manchester United teammate.
Alexis Sanchez has now denied the news, and talked appreciatively about Jose Mourinho through a Twitter post.
Alexis Sanchez on Mourinho:
The forward took to Twitter to clear his name from the controversy, stating that the news is false, and that he is thankful to Mourinho for giving him the opportunity to play in the ‘best team in the world.’
“This is FALSE!!!,” Alexis Sanchez said.
Alexis Sanchez, who the press often describe as a loner who “cuts an isolated figure” at the training ground and doesn’t have any friends at the club, has now been laughing and joking with his team mates on their WhatsApp group. It’s almost as if they’re just making it up…

“José gave me the chance to play for the best team in the world and I only have gratitude for him.”
Sanchez also stated that the team remains United and he is prepared to make a comeback into the side.
“We are a truly United team. We are MANCHESTER UNITED. Respect. I can’t wait to help the team !. Good luck tomorrow family!”

Absolutely love this from Alexis Sánchez. The S*n once again proving why it’s such a pathetic and poorly regarded “news outlet.”
Really wish footballers and clubs would do this more often and go after publications purposely making up stories to sell papers. https://t.co/0hscF3uVZT

Here’s how fans reacted to Sanchez’s message:
Neil Custis called out once again, the fraud has me blocked and yet has the guts to keep tweeting out rubbish about Alexis Sanchez. Works for The Sun and wants people to believe him.. 🤣🤡

What next?
Manchester United appointed former club star Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the interim manager until the end of the season. He will take on the charge for his first game against Cardiff City later tonight.
