Amitabh Bachchan takes hilarious dig at ICC rules after England's win in Super Over at 2019 Cricket World Cup finals

Amitabh Bachchan takes hilarious dig at ICC rules after England are crowned World Champions of 2019 Cricket World Cup after Super Over

The entire Cricketing fraternity had bitten of their nails already before realising that they were in for more breathtaking stuff- a tie even in the Super Over- one, which was more than just a nail-biting contest.

England were crowned victorious as they win the final of the 2019 Cricket World Cup at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground by scoring more number of boundaries as opposed to the Kiwis throughout the course of the match.

It was England’s 26 boundaries as opposed to 17 for England throughout the course of the match (including the Super Over), that won them the title with absolutely nothing to separate the two sides.

While the Cricketing fraternity cherished and enjoyed a humdinger of a final to the fullest, a major fraction was disappointed on ICC’s rule which decides the winner with respect to which team hit the more number of boundaries in their respective innings throughout the match. Fans and experts empathised with the New Zealand team, whereas lashed out at the ICC for a ‘bizarre’ rule and that too applied to decide the World Champion.

Anger, anguish, memes and trolls, the social media users did posted everything possible to express their fury or have a great laugh at the ‘apparent’ absurdity of the rules frames by world Cricket’s apex body.

Joining the list too, is the Bollywood veteran actor and a mega icon- Amitabh Bachchan. He took to his Twitter handle to present an imaginary story and connect it humorously with the ICC rules that decided the winner of the World Cup final.

So here goes his story- आपके पास 2000 रूपये, मेरे पास भी 2000 रुपये, आपके पास 2000 का एक नोट, मेरे पास 500 के 4 … कौन ज्यादा अमीर??? (You have Rs. 2000, and even I have Rs. 2000, you possess one note worth Rs. 2000, while I possess 4 notes worth Rs. 500 each. Who is more rich?)

ICC – जिसके पास 500 के 4 नोट वो ज्यादा रईस.. (ICC- the one with four notes worth Rs.500).

He took a clear dig on the rule where the boundaries are counted to determine the winner in case even the Super Over ends in a tie.
