Anthony Davis has not asked for a trade
Anthony Davis is one of the hottest properties in NBA as of now, with almost every franchise on alert after reports started coming through that the Pelicans man is looking for a trade.
Every report around Davis has suggested that he’ll either be traded to the Lakers or to the Celtics, with Celtics set to miss out due to the ‘Rose rule’.
The idea of Davis joining forces with LeBron and bringing glory back to the Lakers has really excited the average Lakers romantic.

However, according to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, Davis hasn’t really asked for a trade and is happy at staying put at New Orleans.
The relationship that Davis shares with the Pelicans management is impeccable and he wants to work with the management to help strengthen the Pelicans and help them win a championship.
Pelicans want to be active in the trade market, getting free agents into the system and off loading a few players, but none of that trade talk has anything to do with Anthony Davis.
Davis has not even once asked to be traded and is focussed on the job at hand. He is determined to take the Pelicans to the playoffs, despite a rater tepid start from the franchise.

The Pelicans would still need to build a good team around Davis and offer him a bumper contract in order to keep him motivated, but for the time being, Davis does not want out and that would really bolster the confidence of the New Orleans management.
However, if things don’t pan out the way Davis has envisaged them to, he might get interested in that move to the Lakers, especially when he has the opportunity to play with LeBron at such a young age.
There have been reports of a 3 team trade involvement, with Orlando Magic coming in as well, and Lonzo Ball being part of the trade, but all those reports would be put to bed now, with Davis certainly happy at where he is.
Do you think Pelicans will be able to keep hold of Davis or will the Lakers and LeBron be able to pry him away? The Davis story could shape how the NBA would look in the years to come.
