Anthony Davis receives massive boost for move to Lakers

Anthony Davis’ future could decide the next power shift in NBA . With two of the Golden State Warriors set to be free agents next season, the Warriors dynasty could finally come to an end, as KD is almost certain to be taking shelter elsewhere in the 2019-20 season(Thompson should in all probability sign a new contract).

Thus, with KD set to move, the Warriors would short on one all-star and probably the best scorer in the world and hence would need sometime to adjust to the loss.

Thereby there is a chance that another team can build a Warriors like dynasty if it is smart with the trades that it makes. Lakers seem to be the team that is doing that, as multiple reports suggest that both Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis could end up landing there post this season, if Lakers make the conscious decision of doing away with their young roster for the these 2 all stars.

While Magic Johnson and LeBron have both been talking about developing a team for the future and the youngsters being a massive part of the plan, LeBron isn’t getting any younger and quickly needs a team that helps himself and the Lakers win the NBA championship.

According to recent reports, the Anthony Davis to Lakers deal has been in the works for years now. Though, that doesn't guarantee that Lakers would be able to woo him to Los Angeles, but the talk has been going on for quite a while, and probably Davis is all part of the masterplan at the Lakers to help them finally win a championship.

Chris Sheridan from getmoresports.com has reported that while this new development does not guarantee Davis a spot in LA, there surely seems to be a method around what the Lakers want to do and hence are have been in contact with Davis for a long time.

Now, a lot of this depends upon how the Pelicans fare between now and the end of the trade deadline and how Celtics respond to any moves made by the Lakers.

Early November reports had stated that Celtics and Lakers were the two teams that were interested in Davis and could trade him, with Celtics allowed to do so only next season due to the Rose Rule(they would need to trade Kyrie with Davis in order to sign Davis this season as Kyrie too was signed under the 'Rose Rule').

So, if the Pelicans go down the spiral in the next few months, Davis could consider a move away this season itself, with the Lakers being the only realistic option.

Considering the reports that a move to the Lakers has been in the works for years, it seems as if the Lakers want him in LA, and it is only a matter of time before we see Davis and LeBron partner up in the NBA.
