Antoine Griezmann: Josep Bartomeu claims that he has not spoke to Atletico Madrid superstar amidst transfer speculations.

Antoine Griezmann was speculated to join Barcelona after he announced his departure from Atletico Madrid recently. However, his negotiations with the Catalan Club has been rocky.

In recent surprises, according to a statement made by Barcelona President Josep Bartomeu to RAC1, as per a report by the Sport, the Barcelona hegemon says that he has not made any contact with Griezmann.

“There’s nothing to announce. We’ve always said the same. We haven’t spoken to him. There’s nothing to it. We’ll see how the market changes in the next few days and weeks.”

“We have all of June, July and August. We’re talking and planning a strategy, also keeping Barça B in mind, as there are certain players who could be promoted to the first team. There will be some new arrivals and some departures.”

This statement by the Catalan club president complicates Griezmann’s situation as he has already announced his departure from Los Rojniblancos, but presently there are no suitable buyers to trigger his buyout clause.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are near to hire the services of Portuguese sensation Joao Felix to replace Griezmann in the squad.

To make it sound worse, even senior players at Barcelona are not willing to welcome Griezmann in the club, after French International openly refused to join Barcelona while releasing a documentary

Whereas, other parties, who were earlier interested in the player are not keen to sign him presently. Thus, shutting all the doors for the World Cup winning player.

Therefore, it is still remained to see that what lies in the future of Griezmann ahead of next season.
