Anushka Sharma slams Farokh Engineer: The illustrious actress finally broke her silence regarding criticism related to the Indian team.

Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma has been at the receiving end of severe criticism pertaining to the Indian cricket team. As unfortunate and uncalled for as it sounds, Sharma has been often blamed for the team not doing well and even during team selection meetings.
The primary reason behind the same is Sharma being married to India captain Virat Kohli. Neither it is a reason to criticize anyone nor any of this should have happened in the first place, but it is people’s unjustified perception which drags Sharma into matters related to Indian cricket.
Most recently, former India wicket-keeper Farokh Engineer found faults with the Indian selection committee but again ended up dragging Sharma into it. Sharing an incident from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, Engineer talked about how one of the Indian selectors was getting tea for Sharma.
“I didn’t even know one of the selectors during the World Cup and I asked him who the hell he was, because he was wearing the India blazer and he said he was one of the selectors. All they were doing was getting Anushka Sharma cups of tea,” Engineer was quoted as saying by The Times of India.

With Engineer’s statement doing the rounds in the Indian media since morning, Sharma took to her social media platforms to be vocal on the issue for the first time ever. Sharma shared a letter which instantly gained her a lot of support across social media platforms.
The detailed letter comprised of how Sharma kept quiet for all these years but finally felt the need to address the critics. Before concluding, Sharma mentioned that her letter didn’t target Engineer particularly. Sharma mentioning about her preference of coffee over tea in the end has worked as icing on the cake in her letter.
