Arsenal-Adidas deal: Arsenal have agreed on a new kit partnership deal with Adidas.

Arsenal registered their ninth consecutive win in all competitions yesterday, as they thumped Fulham 5-1. The Gunners’ star forwards, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a brace in Arsenal’s victory.

With this win, Arsenal are now 4th in the Premier League, above on goal difference against their city rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The Gunners are only 2 points behind league leaders Manchester City, who played a goalless draw against Liverpool.

Outside of football, further good news arrives for Arsenal today. The club has signed a new kit sponsorship deal with Adidas, which will be effective from June 2019.

Puma is the current kit sponsor for Arsenal.

Arsenal-Adidas deal:

Arsenal announced the new kit sponsorship with Adidas earlier today. While the club didn’t give more information on the deal, ESPN reports that the deal will be worth close to £60m-a-year.

This amount is almost double to Arsenal’s current deal with Puma, which is worth £30m-a-year.

The contract with Adidas is set to increase Arsenal’s spending power in the transfer market, regardless of ensuring a Champions League spot this season. However, the way Arsenal have performed in the Premier League so far, a top-four spot isn’t exactly far-fetched.

The club last wore an Adidas kit during the 1993-94 season. Since then, Arsenal spent two decades with Nike before switching to Puma in 2014.

Earlier, Arsenal also signed their first ever sleeve sponsor, Rwanda Developmental Board, in a deal which is rumored to be worth around £10m-per-year.

ESPN also reports that the partnership with Adidas is expected to be a five-year deal.
